AND HOMES ARE THE LOCATIONS WHERE PEOPLE ARE AT GREATEST RISK FROM FIRE.
COOKING IS THE LEADING CAUSE OF HOME FIRES IN THE UNITED STATES WHERE FIRE DEPARTMENTS RESPONDED TO MORE THAN SEVEN, UH, 1000, EXCUSE ME, 173,200.
ANNUALLY BETWEEN 2013 AND 20 17, 2 OF EVERY FI FIVE HOME FIRES START IN THE KITCHEN WITH 31% OF THESE FIRE RESULTING FROM UNATTENDED COOKING.
MORE THAN THE HALF, MORE THAN HALF OF REPORTED NON-FATAL HOME COOKING FIRE INJURIES OCCURRED WHEN THE VICTIMS TRIED TO FIGHT THE FIRE THEMSELVES.
RESIDENTS WHO HAVE PLANNED AND PRACTICED A HOME FIRE ESCAPE PLAN ARE MORE PREPARED AND WILL THEREFORE BE MORE LIKELY TO SURVIVE A FIRE WORKING SMOKE ALARMS CUT THE RISK OF DYING AND THE REPORTED HOMES FIRES AND AND REPORTED HOME FIRES IN HALF.

UM, THE TEXAS TAX CODE 3 51 ALLOWS FOR PORTIONS OF THE HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAX REVENUE TO BE, UH, RE AWARDED TO QUALIFYING OR ELIGIBLE NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS WHOSE PROGRAMS FALL INTO AT LEAST ONE OF THE QUALIFYING CATEGORIES.
THAT INCLUDES ADVERTISING AND EVENTS, PROMOTING AND ADVERTISING ARTS AND ARTS EVENTS, AS WELL AS HISTORICAL RESTORATION AND PRESERVATION ACTIVITIES.
EACH YEAR DURING THE CITY'S BUDGET APPROVAL PROCESS, CERTAIN, A CERTAIN SUM IS DESIGNATED AND IDENTIFIED FOR THIS USE OVER THE NEXT FISCAL YEAR.
THIS YEAR IT INCLUDES ALLOCATING UP TO $85,000 IN QUALIFYING EXPENDITURES FOR ADVERTISING EVENTS AND ARTS OR, AND UP TO $20,000 IN HISTORICAL RESTORATION AND PRESERVATION ACTIVITIES.
11 ORGANIZATIONS RETURNED 12 APPLICATIONS.
EACH APPLICATION IN THE PROPOSED EXPENDITURES WERE EVALUATED BY THE HOT GRANT COMMITTEE TO ASSURE THAT IT FALLS WITHIN ONE OF THE QUALIFYING CATEGORIES.
SO I JUST LISTED AND SHOWS THAT THE PROPOSED EXPENDITURES PROMOTE BAYTOWN TOURISM, UM, AND OR THE BAYTOWN HOTEL INDUSTRY.
THERE SHOULD BE A CHART IN FRONT OF YOU.
UM, ALL OF THE APPLICATIONS WERE ELIGIBLE AND QUALIFIED TO RECEIVE FUNDS.
I DO WANNA MENTION, UNFORTUNATELY YESTERDAY I DID HEAR FROM MARK PENNY WITH PROJECT BLUE AND THE JAILBREAKER RUN.
THAT EVENT HAS NOW BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL 2022.
