SO I BELIEVE, UM, I THINK EVERYONE IS KIND OF FAMILIAR WITH OUR PROGRAM. UM, BUT I WOULD STILL LIKE TO GIVE A BRIEF OVERVIEW, UM, ABOUT WHAT WE DO. UM, WE ARE A JOB. WE HAVE A JOB READINESS PROGRAM THAT, UM, IS BASED IN ALL OF OUR GOOSE CREEK CAMPUSES, AND WE ARE ON 13 CAMPUSES THROUGHOUT, UH, GOOSE CREEK. UM, THE PROGRAM, UM, IS A COMPREHEN COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM, UH, WHICH IS DESIGNED TO PREPARE STUDENTS FOR COLLEGE OR PREPARE, PREPARE THEM FOR THE WORKFORCE. UM, SOME OF THE TOPICS THAT WE COVER IN THOSE WORKSHOPS ARE RESUME WRITING, INTERVIEW, UM, PREPARATION. WE GO OVER FSFA, WE GO OVER TASFA, UH, WE TALK ABOUT SCHOLARSHIPS, UM, AND WE TALK ABOUT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES AS WELL. WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE JOB READINESS TRAINING PROGRAM? SO THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN DESIGNED AGAIN FOR GOOSE CREEK HIGH SCHOOL AND NOW JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS. UM, WE DO TARGET STUDENTS FROM LOW INCOME TO MODERATE INCOME FAMILIES. THERE ARE SEVERAL WAYS THAT THE STUDENTS CAN PARTICIPATE [00:05:01] IN THE PROGRAM. THEY CAN BE REFERRED BY THEIR SITE COORDINATOR THAT'S BASED ON THEIR CAMPUS THROUGH COMMUNITIES AND SCHOOLS. THEY CAN BE REFERRED BY SCHOOL COUNSELORS, THE COLLEGE AND CAREER COUNSELOR, ADMINISTRATORS OR TEACHERS, WHOEVER IS FAMILIAR WITH THE PROGRAM, UM, AND THINKS THAT THIS WILL BE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR ANY OF THEM. THEIR STUDENTS, THEY ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO REFER THE STUDENTS. UH, STUDENTS CAN ALSO, UH, SELF-REGISTER. SO A LOT OF TIMES THEY ARE FAMILIAR WITH THE PROGRAM THROUGH EITHER FLYERS THAT ARE POSTED THROUGHOUT THEIR SCHOOL. UM, SOMETIMES THEY DO A SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENT. AND SO STUDENTS THAT ARE INTERESTED, THEY'RE, UM, ABLE TO REGISTER AS WELL. WHEN THEY DO REGISTER FOR, UM, THE WORKSHOP THAT IS BEING HELD ON THEIR CAMPUS, OUR SITE COORDINATORS ARE ABLE TO, UM, IDENTIFY THOSE STUDENTS TO CHECK TO SEE IF THEY ARE FROM, UH, FAMILIES THAT ARE LOW, UM, TO MODERATE INCOME FAMILIES. SO WE HAVE ACCESS TO CHECK THAT, UH, THROUGH THE SCHOOL'S DATABASE. SO WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE? UM, WHAT MAKES US A UNIQUE PROGRAM, NUMBER ONE IS BECAUSE WE ARE, WE ARE SCHOOL-BASED. WE ARE BASED ON THE CAMPUS. UM, WE HAVE ACCESS TO THE STUDENTS. UM, WE, UH, WORK WITH THE STUDENTS ON MULTIPLE LEVELS. UM, JUST IDENTIFYING OTHER NEEDS AND THROUGH WORKING WITH THOSE STUDENTS AND BUILDING THOSE RELATIONSHIPS, UM, THAT'S WHEN SOMETIMES WE, WE ARE ABLE TO, UH, IDENTIFY WHETHER OR NOT, OKAY, THIS STUDENT, I THINK, WILL BENEFIT FROM THE JOB READINESS TRAINING PROGRAM. UM, WE MAKE IT HANDS ON. WE WORK WITH THE STUDENTS ONE-ON-ONE. SO EVEN AFTER THE STUDENTS GO THROUGH THE JOB READINESS, UH, PROGRAM, THERE'S ALWAYS THAT SITE COORDINATOR THAT'S BASED ON THE CAMPUS THAT CAN WORK WITH THEM 1 0 1. SO THEY GET, THEY GO THROUGH THE WORKSHOP, UM, THEY LEARN THE DIFFERENT SKILLS, BUT THEN AFTERWARDS THEY MAY HAVE SOME QUESTIONS, OR AFTERWARDS THEY MAY BE ON CAMPUS AND THEY'RE WORKING ON A COLLEGE APPLICATION. UM, AND SO YOU HAVE THE SITE COORDINATOR THAT'S BASED ON THE CAMPUS THAT'S ABLE TO WORK WITH THE STUDENT AND WALK THEM THROUGH THAT PROCESS. IT ALSO ALLOW, ALLOWS US TO IDENTIFY THOSE STUDENTS THAT, UH, WILL BE FIRST GENERATIONAL STUDENTS, UM, GOING TO COLLEGE. AND THEN THOSE ARE THE TIMES WHERE WE FIND OUT AT THAT TIME. OKAY. WELL, A LOT OF TIMES THEIR PARENTS ARE NOT AWARE OF WHAT THAT PROCESS LOOKS LIKE. AND SO AGAIN, WITH THE SITE COORDINATOR BEING ON CAMPUS, WORKING WITH THE STUDENT, THEY CAN REACH OUT TO THE PARENTS AND START WORKING WITH THE PARENTS AS WELL. SO GETTING THEM FAMILIAR WITH THE PROCESS OF APPLYING FOR COLLEGE OR EVEN JUST FILLING OUT JOB APPLICATIONS. SO SINCE, UM, WE'VE BEEN FACILITATING THE JOB READINESS PROGRAM, UH, SINCE RECEIVING FUNDS THROUGH CDBG, WE HAVE SUCCESSFULLY EXPANDED THE PROGRAM ON TO EIGHTH GRADERS, UM, WHICH HAS RESULTED IN THE INCREASE IN THE PARTICIPATION. SO RIGHT NOW, UM, WE HAVE CURRENTLY SERVICED OVER 300 STUDENTS THROUGH THE PROGRAM. UM, AND SO WITH THAT TRACK RECORD THAT SHOWS THAT THE PROGRAM HELPS TO BOOST STUDENT EMPLOYABILITY, POST-SECONDARY ENROLLMENT AND THEIR CONFIDENCE, UM, WITH THEM GOING THROUGH THE WORKSHOPS, LEARNING THE DIFFERENT, UH, SKILLS AND INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT IT TAKES TO, UH, ENROLL IN COLLEGE OR APPLY FOR JOBS. IT KIND OF, IT, IT THEN BOOSTS THEIR CONFIDENCE TO SAY, HEY, OKAY, I'M, I'M READY FOR THIS. OR AT LEAST I KNOW MORE INFORMATION NOW AND I FEEL MORE PREPARED TO APPLY FOR COLLEGE OR GO INTO THE WORKFORCE. HOW DOES THE JOB READINESS TRAINING PROGRAM ALIGN WITH CDBG PRIORITIES AND ENGAGES IN COMMUNITY PARTNERS? UH, IT IS CLOSELY ALIGNED WITH, UM, KEY CDBG FUNDING PRIORITIES AND IS STRENGTHENED BY STRONG COMMUNITY SUPPORT. SO WE MAKE SURE THAT AT LEAST 85% OF THE STUDENTS THAT ARE PARTICIPATING, AS I SAID EARLIER, ARE FROM LOW, UH, LOW TO MODERATE INCOME FAMILIES. UH, SO THAT THE PROGRAM, UH, HELPS TO FOCUS ON IMPROVING JOB READINESS, EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT, AND LONG-TERM ECONOMIC STABILITY. WE ALSO COLLABORATE WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT THAT WE ARE BASED IN. THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, UH, HELPS US, UH, PROVIDE THE SPACE SO THAT WE CAN HAVE THE WORKSHOPS. UM, ALSO WE WORK WITH A PARTNER PIVOT FOUNDATION. AND SO PIVOT FOUNDATION IS, UM, A ORGANIZATION THAT FOCUSES ON COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS ONLY. AND THEN, UM, WE ALSO WORK WITH SOME OF THE LOCAL BUSINESSES IN THE AREA, UM, TO [00:10:01] JUST EXTEND, NOT NECESSARILY GUARANTEE THE STUDENTS GETTING A JOB, BUT AT LEAST EXTEND THE COURTESY OF THEM, UH, BEING ABLE TO HAVE AN INTERVIEW, UM, IF POSSIBLE. AND THE PACKET THAT I GAVE YOU, UH, THERE ARE, UH, SOME TWO IMPACT STATEMENTS, UM, FROM TWO OF OUR STUDENTS. THEY ARE CURRENT, THEY ARE CURRENTLY SENIORS ABOUT TO GRADUATE. SO, UM, THESE ARE THEIR IMPACT STATEMENTS OF HOW THE JOB READINESS PROGRAM HAS IMPACTED, UM, HAS IMPACTED THEM. SO REGARDING OUR OUTCOMES, OUR JOB, UH, READINESS TRAINING PROGRAM, AS, UH, MS. ROBINSON STATED, WE ARE ON 13 CAMPUSES THROUGHOUT THE DISTRICT, BETWEEN 21 20 21 TO 2024. WE HAVE SERVED OVER 300 STUDENTS. THE FIRST QUARTER OF THE, THIS FISCAL YEAR, UM, QUARTER ONE WE HAD 44 STUDENTS. THE SECOND QUARTER WE HAD 52, AND THE THIRD QUARTER WE HAD 54 STUDENTS. AND HERE'S WHAT WE WANT YOU TO KNOW. THE JOB READINESS TRAINING PROGRAM, YOUR FUNDING LITERALLY HELPS INVEST IN THE FUTURE OF OUR STUDENTS. I JUST WANT TO BRIEFLY SHARE THAT TODAY WE TOOK THE PARTICIPANTS TO SAN JACINTO COLLEGE IN PASADENA, AND I PROMISE YOU IT MADE SENSE. THE KIDS THAT WENT THROUGH THE JOB READINESS TRAINING PROGRAM, THEY HAD THE INFORMATION ABOUT HOW TO APPLY FOR COLLEGE, WHAT COLLEGE IS LIKE. THEY REMEMBERED, OH, MISS, THAT'S WHAT THAT MEANS. SATI HAVE TO TAKE THE SAT. BUT THE BEAUTIFUL THING ABOUT SAN JACK, AND THIS IS JUST A TOOTH THEIR HORN A LITTLE BIT, THAT REALLY DREW THE KIDS IN. THE KIDS DIDN'T FEEL ISOLATED WITH SAN JACINTO COLLEGE. I LEARNED TODAY ALONG WITH THE STUDENTS, THAT THEY HAVE WHAT'S CALLED THE PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP. AND ALTHOUGH OUR KIDS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP BECAUSE THEY LIVE IN THIS DISTRICT, THEY WERE ABLE TO CONNECT THE DOTS AND UNDERSTAND THAT THE COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES HAVE MONEY. I JUST HAVE TO HAVE THE DESIRE TO GO. THE FIELD TRIP COORDINATOR REALLY EXPRESSED TO THEM, IF YOU WANT TO COME TO COLLEGE, WE WILL FIND A WAY FOR YOU TO GET HERE. AND JUST TO SEE FROM START TO FINISH TODAY ON THE FIELD TRIP, IT JUST BROUGHT MY HEART JOY. SO I JUST WANTED TO SHARE THAT PIECE. AND THAT IS THE END OF OUR PRESENTATION. IS THERE ANY QUESTIONS? SO THIS PAST SUMMER, WE, UH, HOSTED A F WORKSHOP AND WE INVITED BOTH THE PARENTS AND THE STUDENT BECAUSE AGAIN, WE'RE WORKING WITH STUDENTS THAT WILL BE FIRST GEN STUDENTS GOING TO COLLEGE AND, AND PARENTS, UM, WHILE THEY WOULD LOVE FOR THEIR KIDS TO GO TO COLLEGE, THE FIRST THING IS THAT THEY MAY SAY IS, I CAN'T AFFORD THAT. AND THE STUDENT UNDERSTANDS THAT MY PARENT CANNOT AFFORD IT. AND SO THAT'S THE REASON WHY WE ENCOURAGE THEM, COME TO THE WORKSHOPS SO THAT YOU CAN LEARN MORE INFORMATION ABOUT HOW, HOW COLLEGE CAN BE PAID FOR AND NOT NECESSARILY COMING FROM YOU. UM, I WILL SAY SINCE WE STARTED THE PROGRAM, I WILL SAY THAT OUR PARENTS HAVE BEEN RECEPTIVE. UM, AND WHEN THEY WALK AWAY, THEY EVEN FEEL MORE CONFIDENT AND, OKAY, I THINK WE CAN DO THIS. AND NOW I HAVE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING. UM, FOR INSTANCE, UH, WE HAD A SITE COORDINATOR, WHAT ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO. SHE TOOK A, SHE WENT WITH A PARENT AND A STUDENT THAT WILL BE GRADUATING THIS YEAR TO WILEY COLLEGE IN MARSHALL, TEXAS. OUR FIRST STEP HOMELESS SERVICES PROGRAM PROVIDES HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS WITH ONE-ON-ONE CASE MANAGEMENT TO NAVIGATE THEM TO RESOURCES ON THE CITY, COUNTY, AND STATE LEVELS, UH, AND FEDERAL LEVELS. OUR NAVIGATOR ASSIST THE CLIENTS WITH OBTAINING THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTATION SUCH AS IDENTIFICATION CARDS, BIRTH CERTIFICATES, UH, AND SOCIAL SECURITY CARDS. THAT'S WHERE WE COME IN WITH THE HARRIS COUNTY SHERIFF DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE THAT TEMPORARY HOMELESS ID, WHICH IS THEIR FIRST STEP TO OBTAINING THE REST OF THE DOCUMENTATION THAT THEY NEED. AND WITHOUT A STATE ID OR ANY SORT OF ID, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET EMPLOYMENT OR ANY SORT OF HOUSING OR SHELTER. 'CAUSE YOU HAVE TO HAVE I IDENTIFICATION IN ORDER TO OBTAIN THOSE THINGS. AND THOSE ARE THE FIRST STEPS TO GETTING THEM ON THE ROAD TO SELF-SUSTAINABILITY. UM, WE ARE ALSO A TEXAS HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMUNITY PARTNER. ALSO THE HOMELESS, UH, THE HARRIS HEALTH SYSTEM PROVIDES A MOBILE UNIT THAT COMES TO THE STERLING MUNICIPAL LIBRARY ONCE A MONTH TO PROVIDE MEDICAL ATTENTION TO THOSE CLIENTS THAT ARE IN NEED. OUR MANY OTHER PARTNERS, UH, IN THE COMMUNITY INCLUDES, WHICH INCLUDES HEARTS AND HANDS. LOVE NETWORK AND OTHER NONPROFIT AGENCIES, CHURCHES AND COMMUNITIES THAT SUPPLY US WITH FOOD DONATIONS, HYGIENE PRODUCTS, AND THINGS THAT THE CLIENTS MAY NEED, SUCH AS SOCKS, JACKETS, BLANKETS, UH, AND SUPPLIES. WE ALSO PROVIDE HANDS-ON OUTREACH WITH THE HARRIS COUNTY HOMELESS OUTREACH TEAM TO VISIT LOCAL HOMELESS CAMPS, CITY PARKS, OR ANY OTHER AREA IN BAYTOWN WHERE THE HOMELESS MAY BE LIVING. WE VISIT WITH CHURCHES AND BUSINESSES TO SEE IF THERE'S A HOMELESS PROBLEM THERE. A LOT OF TIMES WE GET CALLS FROM BUSINESSES, YOU KNOW, THAT THERE'S HAVING HOMELESS LAUTERING OR HOMELESS TRYING TO, UH, CAMP AT THEIR LOCATIONS, AND THEY NEED SOMEONE TO COME OUT AND TRY TO TALK TO THEM AND TO PROVIDE THEM WITH THE RESOURCES THAT THEY ARE NEEDING AT THAT TIME. WE ALSO PARTNER WITH, UH, THE COUNSELORS OF GOOSE CREEK INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT AND LEE COLLEGE TO PROVIDE RESOURCES TO THOSE FAMILIES THAT ARE HOMELESS. MANY FAMILIES ARE HOMELESS WITHIN G-C-C-I-S-D AND FALL UNDER THE MCKENZIE BENTO PROGRAM. IT IS WHERE THOSE STUDENTS THAT ARE HOMELESS ARE ABLE TO ATTEND SCHOOL AND GET THE NECESSARY RESOURCES THAT THEY NEED DURING THEIR TIME OF HOMELESSNESS. AND MANY STUDENTS AT LEE COLLEGE OF ALSO FACE HOMELESSNESS AND THE COUNSELORS AND THE, UH, DIRECTOR OF STUDENT ADVOCACY AT LEE COLLEGE HAS REACHED OUT TO US ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS TO HELP THOSE STUDENTS THAT ARE HOMELESS THAT ATTEND LEE COLLEGE. WE HAVE BEEN ALSO IN TALKS AND WITH MEETINGS WITH, UH, PRECINCT TWO, ADRIAN GARCIA'S OFFICE, THE, UH, HARRIS COUNTY COALITION OF THE HOMELESS AND MANY OTHER AGENCIES TO SEE WHAT WE CAN DO TO BRING MORE RESOURCES TO THE EAST HARRIS COUNTY AND BAYTOWN AREAS. I'M NOT SURE IF MANY OF YOU FAMILIAR WITH HOMELESSNESS IN BAYTOWN AND THE RESOURCES THAT ARE IN BAYTOWN. THEY'RE LIMITED ALMOST TO NONE. A LOT OF THE RESOURCES THAT ARE RECEIVED FOR HOMELESSNESS STOPS IN HOUSTON. NOTHING COMES TOWARDS THE BAYTOWN AREA. SO WE ARE IN MEETINGS. WE WILL HAVE A MEETING THIS THURSDAY WITH THESE, UH, WITH HAR, UH, HARRIS COUNTY PRECINCT THREE ADRIAN GARCIA'S OFFICE, AS WELL AS COALITION OF THE HOMELESS TO SEE WHAT OTHER RESOURCES CAN BE COMING TOWARDS THE BAYTOWN AREA AND WHAT WE CAN DO TO ASSIST THOSE HOMELESS CLIENTS IN BAYTOWN. ALTHOUGH NOT ALL OF OUR CLIENTS QUALIFY FOR THE BAY AREA HOMELESS SHELTER, WE DO ASSIST THEM WITH FIGHTING ALTERNATIVE SHELTER, SUCH AS STORE OF HOPE, SARAH'S HOUSE IN PASADENA AND OTHERS, INCLUDING TRANSITIONAL HOUSING, WHICH MANY IS LOCATED OUTSIDE OF BAYTOWN. WE KNOW THAT BAYTOWN ONLY HAS THE BAY AREA HOMELESS SHELTER, WHICH SERVICES ALL OF BAYTOWN AND EAST HARRIS COUNTY. THERE'S NOTHING BETWEEN BAY AREA AND DOWNTOWN HOUSTON. THERE ARE NO OTHER SHELTERS, NO OTHER TRANSITIONAL HOUSING IN THIS, IN THIS AREA TO SERVICE THOSE HOMELESS CLIENTS. AND ANOTHER THING IS THE LACK OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING POSES A CHALLENGE TO MANY. OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH THE BAYTOWN HOUSING AUTHORITY ENABLES US TO REFER CLIENTS TO PROGRAMS THAT MAY BE AVAILABLE CURRENTLY. THERE, THERE IS WAITING LIST FOR MOST OF THE PROGRAMS, AND MANY OF THE WAITING LISTS ARE ALREADY CLOSED. IN 2021, HUD RELEASED A PROGRAM CALLED THE E EMERGENCY HOUSING VOUCHER PROGRAM. AND THAT PROGRAM HAS SINCE BEEN HALTED, AND WE DO NOT KNOW WHEN OR IF IT WILL BE REINSTATED. UH, AND CLIENTS ARE ALSO REFERRED TO APARTMENTS THAT ARE SUBSIDIZED. THESE ARE THE APARTMENTS THAT ARE BASED ON YOUR INCOME, SUCH AS BAY TERRA. MM-HMM . UH, THE, UH, CLIENT'S. RENT IS BASED ON INCOME. A LOT OF THOSE ALSO HAVE WAITING LISTS AND, AND THE WAITING LISTS ARE ALSO CLOSED. ONE THING THAT SETS OUR PROGRAM APART FROM OTHERS IS THAT WE EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT HOMELESSNESS. I'VE WRITTEN TWO ARTICLES IN THE PAST TWO YEARS ABOUT THE HOMELESS SITUATION, THE ARTICLES THAT WERE PUBLISHED IN THE BAYTOWN SUN. A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND HOMELESSNESS. THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT NOT EVERYBODY THAT YOU SEE ON THE STREETS IS HOMELESS. AND THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE THAT YOU DON'T SEE THAT ARE HOMELESS. YOU HAVE PEOPLE THAT ARE LIVING WITH FAMILY MEMBERS. YOU HAVE ELDERLY THAT HAVE BEEN, UH, KICKED OUT OF THEIR APARTMENT FOR WHATEVER REASON, EVICTED RENTS HAVE GONE UP. THEIR SOCIAL SECURITY CHECK HAS REMAINED THE SAME. MANY OF OUR ELDERLY AND DISABLED INCOME IS BELOW A THOUSAND DOLLARS. THE MAX IS MAYBE $950, AND FINDING SOMEWHERE [01:05:01] TO STAY ON A $950 A MONTH BUDGET AND, AND ALSO PAYING FOR YOUR NECESSITIES IS VERY DIFFICULT. AND MANY OF THEM WHO HAVE MOVED IN WITH FAMILY MEMBERS, THE FAMILY MEMBERS HAVE GOTTEN TO THE POINT TO WHERE THEY WANT THEM GONE. SO IT IS VERY DIFFICULT. AND MY JOB, AND ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I DO ADVOCATE FOR THE HOMELESS COMMUNITY IS TO EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY ABOUT HOMELESSNESS AND ABOUT THOSE PEOPLE THAT ARE HOMELESS. CONTRARY TO POPULAR BELIEF, NOT ALL INDIVIDUALS, LIKE I SAID, ARE NOT THE ONES THAT YOU SEE ON THE STREETS. THERE'S SO MANY OTHERS THAT ARE IN HOTELS AND THOSE THAT ARE IN THEIR CARS. AND LIKE I SAID, LIVING WITH OTHERS. UH, MANY OF THE HOMELESS THAT ARE IN THE COMMUNITY, AND ESPECIALLY THOSE THAT ARE ON THE STREETS, SUFFER FROM MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES AS WELL AS SUBSTANCE ABUSE. AND WITH THOSE TWO ISSUES, THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO GET INTO ANY SORT OF SHELTERS. PEOPLE ARE, ARE BECOMING MORE AND MORE IN NEED, AND OUR HOMELESS POPULATION IS GROWING. OUR APPROACH FOR A SUCCESSFUL PROGRAM IS BASED ON A PREMISE FOR FACILITATING FROM BEGINNING TO END. WE PROVIDE A ONE STOP SHOP TO ADDRESS ALL OF THE NEEDS OF THE CLIENTS. THIS APPROACH IS OFTEN REQUIRED US TO HANDHOLD WITH THE CLIENTS WHILE USING RESOURCES AND REFERRALS. THIS APPROACH HAS BEEN MOST EFFECTIVE IN ACHIEVING RESULTS ACCORDING TO DATA COLLECTED WITH VIA OUR CRM SYSTEM. WE HAVE OUR OWN DATABASE THAT WE USE TO COLLECT DATA. WE DO INTAKE FORMS AS WELL AS A CLIENT ACTION PLAN. THE CLIENT ACTION PLAN IS WHAT EACH CLIENT GETS WHEN THEY SIT DOWN WITH ME TO TALK ABOUT THEIR SITUATION. FROM WHAT STEP DO WE NEED TO DO FROM GET FROM THIS POINT TO THE NEXT POINT, TO THE NEXT POINT, AND HOPEFULLY TO GET THEM TO SELF SUSTAINABILITY. OUR CRM SYSTEM, UH, THE DATA THAT WE COLLECT THROUGH OUR CRM SYSTEM PROVIDES US WITH INFORMATION TO SEE HOW WELL THE PROGRAM IS GOING. ACCORDING TO THIS DATA, IN 20 10 24, WE PROVIDED A HUNDRED AND SEVEN, A HUNDRED AND THIRTY SEVEN CLIENTS WITH SERVICES. WE ASSISTED WITH 266 SOCIAL SERVICE NEEDS. AND THOSE NEEDS RANGE FROM FOOD STAMPS, BIRTH CERTIFICATES, SOCIAL SECURITY CARDS, UH, MEDICAL SERVICES, AND SO FORTH. AS A RESULT, 20% RECEIVED EITHER SHELTER OR HOUSING. 10% RECEIVED EMPLOYMENT, 90% RECEIVED IDS, 7% RECEIVE MEDICAL SERVICE, 3% FILE FOR THEIR SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY, AND 80% RECEIVE FOOD ASSISTANCE AND SNAP BENEFITS. THE SUCCESS OF THIS PROGRAM IS MEASURED BY THE NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS THAT HAVE THEIR BASIC NEEDS, SUCH AS DOCUMENT REPLACEMENT, DOCUMENT REPLACEMENT IN EMPLOYMENT AND SHELTER. MET. DATA IS COLLECTED ON EACH CLIENT THROUGH THE CRM SYSTEM, AND WE ALSO DO FOLLOW UPS WITH EACH CLIENTS. MANY OF THE CLIENTS THAT I DO SERVICE, THEY COME AND BE A FIRST TIME CLIENT. THEY DO COME BACK SEVERAL TIMES TO SEE ME. IT'S NOT JUST A ONE TIME THAT THEY CAN COME, ESPECIALLY WHEN WE'RE DOING DOCUMENTARY REPLACEMENT. IT TAKES A, IT'S A PROCESS. IT TAKES US UP TO THREE WEEKS TO GET THE ID FROM THE HARRIS COUNTY HOMELESS OUTREACH TEAM. AFTER WE GET THE ID, THEN I HAVE TO SEND OFF FOR THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATE. AFTER WE SEND OFF FOR THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE, THEY HAVE TO GET THE SOCIAL SECURITY CARD. SO THEY DO HAVE TO COME BACK AND SEE ME SEVERAL TIMES IN ORDER TO GET THE DOCUMENTATION COMPLETELY REPLACED. UM, EACH CLIENT RECEIVES A PLAN OF ACTION THAT THEY ARE TO WORK ALONG WITH MYSELF AND OTHER NAVIGATOR IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS AND TO HELP THEM ON THEIR JOURNEY TO SELF SUSTAINABILITY. THE JOURNEY IS A PROCESS AND MUST HAVE, AND WE, AND WE MUST WORK ON IT ON BOTH SIDES. I CAN'T, I CAN DO MY PART, BUT THEY ALSO HAVE TO DO THEIR PART IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS SUCCESSFUL. WITH THE REWARD OF THE CDBG GRANT, WE WILL PROVIDE, WE ARE, WE WILL BE ABLE TO PROVIDE OUR CLIENTS WITH NECESSARY DOCUMENT, UH, REPLACEMENT THAT THEIR NEEDS FOR, THAT THEY WILL NEED FOR EMPLOYMENT AND HOUSING. AND THAT'S SOME OF THE THINGS THAT WE'LL BE ABLE TO ASSIST THEM WITH. AND ALSO PROVIDE EMERGENCY SHELTER. WE MAY HAVE SOMEONE CALL THAT MAY BE IN A SITUATION. I HAD ONE, ONE TIME, HE HAD JUST BEEN RELEASED FROM THE HOSPITAL AND HE NEEDED TO BE OFF THE STREETS FOR A FEW DAYS AND HE WOULD NEED TO GO INTO A HOTEL. HE HAD NOWHERE ELSE TO GO BUT THE STREETS. AND SO THE SHELTERS COULDN'T ACCEPT HIM BECAUSE OF HIS MEDICAL CONDITION. SO THAT WOULD BE AN EXAMPLE OF SOMEONE THAT WE WOULD DO FOR EMERGENCY SHELTER. [01:10:01] UH, WE ALSO BE, WOULD BE ABLE TO HELP THEM GET MEDICAL SUPPLIES LIKE A WALKER OR A CANE, OR SOMETIMES THEY NEED, UH, BANDAGES OR THINGS LIKE THAT, THAT THEY, UM, MAY HAVE GOTTEN HURT OR SOMETHING. AND THEY NEED US, UH, MEDICAL SUPPLIES. THAT WOULD BE SOME OF THE OTHER THINGS THAT WE'LL BE ABLE TO DO WITH THE GRANT OF FUNDING.
