THIS IS TO DISCUSS AND CONSIDER THE BAYTOWN PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION PROPOSAL FOR BASE PAY COMPENSATION FOR YEAR THREE, WHICH WILL BE OCTOBER 1ST, 2024 THROUGH THE SEPTEMBER 30TH, 2025 FOR THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING CONTRACT.

FIRST OFF, I WANT TO APOLOGIZE FOR MY UNPREPAREDNESS.

I, UH, WALKED OUT OF THE HOUSE WITHOUT MY FOLDER 'CAUSE MY CEILING FELL DOWN.

'CAUSE MY AC ISS LEAKING ALL OVER THE PLACE.

OH.

AND MY POWER WENT OUT RIGHT BEFORE I LEFT AND I JUST , I JUST WALKED OUT, WALKED OUTTA THE HOUSE.

UM, I INITIALLY PREPARED A FOLDER, UM, BUT I WILL JUST, WE CAN JUST DISCUSS WHAT WE WERE TALKING ABOUT.

UM, MS. HERNANDEZ, WE, SHE PROVIDED US WITH SOME STUFF.

WE HAD PULLED SOME DATA FROM ALL THE OTHER FIRE DEPARTMENTS.

SO WE GENERALLY, UM, COMPARE TO THINGS LIKE THAT, OUR MATCH CITIES THAT WE'VE LIKED TO MATCH FOR, FOR A LONG TIME.

AND IN THAT, IN THAT REALM, IT LOOKS LIKE TO, TO PUT US AT AN AVERAGE LEVEL OF FIREFIGHTER, IT'S ABOUT A 5%.

UM, UNTIL WE GET TO SOME OF THE HIRINGS, THAT'S WHEN IT REALLY GETS KIND OF OFF.

UM, SO WE WOULD LIKE TO PROPOSE A 5%.

THE INITIAL, WHEN WE INITIALLY PROPOSED, UM, BACK IN 2021 FOR THE 2022 SEASON, IT WAS A FIVE, FIVE AND FIVE FOR THREE YEARS.

BUT, UM, HOLDING TRUE TO WHAT THE NEW CONTRACTS THAT HAVE COME IN ACROSS THE STATE, THAT'S WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE IS, IS GONNA BE PRETTY VALID TO KEEP US IN THAT, THAT GENERAL AVERAGE RANGE.

SO.

AND JUST A 5% ACROSS THE BOARD? YES, MA'AM.

UM, YOU KNOW, OBVIOUSLY WE'RE NOT PREPARED TO DO A COUNTER AT THIS PARTICULAR MOMENT IN TIME.

UM, SO WE DO HAVE A MEETING SCHEDULED FOR, UH, THIS COMING MONDAY, RIGHT? THE 10TH.
