THE PROPOSAL ALSO SUPPORTS OUR COMPREHENSIVE PLANS, LAND POLICIES AND ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY AND BAY TOWN'S NEED FOR ECONOMY.
THE PROPOSED ZONING MEETS ALL OF THE CRITERIA FOR REZONING AND STAFF RECOMMENDS APPROVAL OF THE REQUEST.

WHILE THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND ITS PLANNING PROCESS REALLY GIVES THE CITY AND ITS PARTNERS AN OPPORTUNITY TO STEP BACK FROM THE DAY-TO-DAY BUSINESS OF RUNNING THE CITY AND START TO IDENTIFY AND HEAR FROM THE COMMUNITY ABOUT WHAT FACTORS CAN HELP SHAPE THE COMMUNITY AND HOW YOU WOULD LIKE BAYTOWN TO BE LOOKING OUT TO THE YEAR 2040 AND IDENTIFY THOSE ACTIONS THAT CAN HELP ACHIEVE THE DESIRED OUTCOME FOR THE FUTURE OF BAYTOWN.

SO ALL THE OTHER PLANS THAT THE CITY OF BAYTOWN DOES, THINGS LIKE THE NEW PARKS AND RECREATION PLAN THAT WAS ADOPTED LAST YEAR, ALL THE CORRIDOR PLANS, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STUDIES, THOSE ALL FEED INTO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, UM, BECAUSE IT DOES LOOK HOLISTICALLY AT REALLY ALMOST EVERYTHING THAT THE CITY, UM, TOUCHES.
SO LAND USE AND DEVELOPMENT, INFRASTRUCTURE, MOBILITY, HOUSING, NEIGHBORHOODS, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, AND PARKS AND RECREATION, THOSE ARE ALL THE MAJOR COMPONENTS OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN.
SO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN PROVIDES HIGH LEVEL GOALS AND STRATEGIC ACTIONS IN, AGAIN, THOSE KEY AREAS.
UM, IT HELPS PROVIDE POLICY GUIDANCE NOT ONLY TO CITY STAFF, BUT TO, UH, THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION AND CITY COUNCIL.

AND THEN REALLY A DEEP DIVE INTO THE DEMOGRAPHICS.
SO WE WERE FORTUNATE THAT THE, UM, CENSUS NUMBERS, UH, CAME OUT, UM, KIND OF RIGHT DURING THE SAME TIMEFRAME LAST
