CALL THIS MEDIUM, THE BAYTOWN MUNICIPAL DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT SPECIAL MEETING ORDER.
WE ARE IN, UH, BAYTOWN CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS, AND WE DO HAVE A QUORUM.
SO WE HAVE ITEM ONE A CONSIDER RESOLUTION DETERMINING THE ALTERNATE DELIVERY METHOD FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE BAYTOWN CONVENTION CENTER HOTEL AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS AND A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR DESIGN BUILD SERVICES.
SO THE FIRST STEP IN THE PROCESS OF A DESIGN BUILD CONTRACT IS FOR THE BOARD TO GO AHEAD AND SELECT AN ALTERNATIVE DELIVERY METHOD.
WE ARE PROPOSING THAT A DESIGN BUILD BE THE BEST, PROVIDE THE BEST VALUE TO THE, UM, MDD IN THIS CASE.
AND SO THIS IS THE FIRST STEP.
WE WILL THEN, AFTER THIS IS APPROVED, IF YOU ALL DECIDE TO APPROVE THIS, WE WILL ADVERTISE TWICE FOR THE RFQ.
IT'S A TWO STEP PROCESS, AND WE'LL GET AN RFP IN FROM THOSE THAT QUALIFIED, UH, PROPOSERS.
AND THEN WE'LL BRING THAT BACK TO THE BOARD.
IT WILL BE PROBABLY SOMETIME IN FEBRUARY.
THERE MIGHT BE A SPECIAL MEETING THEN IN FEBRUARY, IF THAT WORKS OUT.
